Brock J. Atkins
Senior Trial Attorney
Brock J. Atkins is one of our newest attorneys at Stampone O’Brien Dilsheimer Holloway. He comes to us by way of the Tucker Law Group in Center City, Philadelphia, where he was a partner. He has significant experience as a trial attorney in state and federal courts and has represented clients in major commercial, employment, civil rights, medical malpractice, and general civil litigation claims. Additionally, Mr. Atkins has represented health insurance companies, hospitals and universities in commercial disputes, and negligence claims. Mr. Atkins is a highly recognized trial lawyer with more than 65 cases tried to jury verdict in both the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his unapparelled trial success, Mr. Atkins has counseled and represented clients in commercial disputes and achieved favorable results that also avoided litigation. He has prepared clients for and represented them in hearings and mediations with the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) and Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services (“JAMS”).
Mr. Atkins’ extensive courtroom experience makes him a sought-after speaker at CLE’s where he has lectured on voir dire, juror bias, and excluding expert witnesses.
Mr. Atkins also worked for the City of Philadelphia Law Department in federal and state civil litigation as a Divisional Deputy City Solicitor where he provided advice and counseling to various City departments. He was tasked by the City Solicitor and the Philadelphia Police Commissioner to coordinate efforts between the Department of Justice and the Philadelphia Police Department, and work to implement the Department of Justice’s 91 recommendations. Committed to improving police/community relations, Mr. Atkins served as the liaison between the Law Department and the Police Oversight Board and has spoken at conferences on best police practices and community safety. Additionally, Mr. Atkins trained junior attorneys on trial and oral advocacy.
Mr. Atkins is a graduate of Georgetown University Law School. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Georgia. He lives in the Andorra section of the Philadelphia with his wife and four children.
